|Antwerp / Belgium| Riccardo Fanchini![]() Born: April 18, 1950 - PolandDead: / Riccardo Fanchini is a large scale drug trafficker and was based in Antwerp, Belgium. During the 1990's he made fortunes with his vodka import company Kremlyovskaya and became closely associated with the Russian Mafia and American drug kartels. From vodka importer to drug trafficker Riccardo Fanchini was born in Poland to a Polish mother and Italian father. In the late 1970's he began to work with known criminal Grigori 'Papa' Dekanidze, a leader of the Russian Mafia. Later he moved to New York where he ran a restaurant together with his wife. In the early 1990's he finally settled down in Schilde, Antwerp, where he started a trading company called M&S international together with Rachmiel Brandwain. After their cooperation came to a stop Fanchini formed his own trading company and left Brandwain behind. After Brandwain went bankrupt he was murdered by an assassin in 1998. By then he was regarded as one of Poland's biggest criminals. That same year he was present during a meeting with the Camorra and one year later, in 1997, he held a meeting with criminals from the former Soviet Union. Fanchini sold millions of liters vodka to Russia. thanks to the sporting funds he paid very little tax and thanks to that his company Kremlyovskaya earned fortunes. He made Beglium the second largest vodka export company in the world. In 1995 he had a turnover of 50 million €. A year later, when the press got word that Fanchini had contacts with the Russian mob, his bank credits were cut down resolving in Fanchini's bankrupcy in 1996. After that they found out that Fanchini had a total of +/- 13 million € debt to all sorts of things such as F1 sponsoring in Monaco and tennis tournaments in Hamburg which he never paid. In the late 1990's he was convicted for money laundring and fraude together with his Belgian accomplice Frank Slaets. In 2004 Fanchini was freed from prison and started to set up a drug smuggling network in cooperation with the Russian Mafia. Fanchini himself became one of the world's biggest drug traffickers and was closely associated with men such as Boris Nayfeld, a former bodyguard to Russian mob boss Evsei Agron, and Robert Alcaino, a former lawyer and man-in-the-middle for drugkartels in Florida. By that time Fanchini moved to London where he lived in a big villa and stayed there under the false name Riccardo Rotmann. In 2007 he was arrested in London and the United States demanded his delivery to bring him to justice at Scotland Yard. Investigations also began round his wife, Katrin Rotmann, who recently had won 339.000€ for predicting the outcome of some soccer tournaments. In New York he will be trialed for importing Cocaine, Heroin and MDMA, other crimes are money laundring and being the leader of a criminal network.
