|New York|  Tommaso Petto

Birth: 1879

Death: 1905

Tommaso Petto, also called 'The Ox' was a member of the early Morello Gang. He was arrested by Joseph Petrosino in relation to the Barrel murder in 1903 but was never convicted. (Don Vito Cascio Ferro & Peter Morello were also one of the criminals involved). It is thought that Petto moved from New York to Pennsylvania, when he was subsequently stabbed outside his home in Wilkesbarre, he was found with 62 wounds. The killer of Petto was presumed to be Giuseppe De Primo, avenging the murder of his brother-in-law Benedetto Madonnia, who was found inside the barrel.
