Cipriano was born in Sicily 1869, he emigrated to Detroit in the early 20th Century. A strong, rough man known as a "pezzonovante", one who enforced the law of the three Giannola brothers on the streets of Little Italy, Detroit. He was killed on Tuesday April 7th, 1914, along with Dr. Giuseppe Cuisimano in a drug store at the corner of Champlain and Mullet Streets, by a package bomb that had been delivered to mob boss Antonino Giannola. Three others were injured by the blast.
