||Canada/ Montreal| Rocco Sollecito
Birth: 1949 - Italy
Death: March 1, 2016 - Laval, Montreal
Rocco Sollecito was a high ranking member of the Rizzuto Mafia family and was presumed to be one of it's leaders since the passing of longtime leader Vito Rizzuto. Rocco Sollecito was born in Bari, Italy. In 2004 Sollecito was named in the Charbonneau commission after surveillance footage from 2004 showed him receiving money from construction tycoon Nicolo Milioto. In 2006 he, along with other key figures of the Rizzuto family, was arrested during Operation Colisée, which weakened their position in Montreal and would ultimately start a rebellion. He pleaded guilty to "general conspiracy to commit extortion, bookmaking, illegal gaming as well as being in possession of the proceeds of crime" and was sentenced to 8 years, although he was released after serving one third of his sentence in the summer of 2011.
On March 1, 2016, Sollecito was shot dead whilst sitting in his car. A couple of months earlier lieutenant Lorenzo Giordano was killed in what is believed to be a final cleanup of the old Rizzuto structure. His son Stefano is currently seen as a leading figure within the group together with the son of Vito Rizzuto.
