Birth: 1940 - Cattolica Eraclea, Sicily

Death: /

Emanuel Ragusa is a major drugdealer and close confidant of the Rizzuto family.

Drug trafficker
Ragusa was born in Cattolica Eraclea, Sicily, in 1940. In 1958 he moved out and ended up in Montreal. Together with Vito Rizzuto, Paolo Renda and others from his Sicilian hometown he forged an alliance with Vic Cotroni and his brothers. During the early 1970's Ragusa was largely involved in the Montreal faction of the French Connection and often made trips to New York to ensure drug deliveries towards the Bonanno Family. He also made frequent trips to Sicily and was wanted by Italian authorities during the Maxi Trial.

In 1981 Vito Rizzuto was asked by Bonanno capo Joseph Massino to come to New York and join a hitsquad set out to murder three renegade Bonanno members. Massino wanted to bring in Canadian killers so no possible witnesses would recognize them. According to a US police report Ragusa followed Rizzuto on his trip and was one of the shooters. However, he was never questioned or even investigated for his part in the slaying. In 1994 Ragusa was arrested alongside other Canadian mobsters for laundering $100 million of drug money and for trafficking more than 550 kilograms of cocaine. Two years later Ragusa was named in another massive 500 plus kilogram trafficking conspiracy towards New York, although police was only able to confiscate 75 kilo's. Ragusa pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 12 years in prison. He was released in 2004 and has since then claimed to have split ways with organized crime.

Ragusa has two daughters. One of them, Eleanora, married the eldest son of Vito Rizzuto in 1995. His other daughter, Antonia, married a cousin of Alfonso Caruana. Doing this Ragusa had tightened his relations with the Rizzuto and Cuntrera-Caruana clans.
