The Atlanta Federal Penitentiary, located in Atlanta Georgia, opened it's doors in 1902. This high level security prison was also the site where an 11 day riot was held by Cuban refugees in 1987. It was also the place were a number of notorious mafiosi were jailed. Including members of the early Morello Gang, the Chicago Outfit and Genovese Family.
